How to choose
The best eSIM depends on your trip, not on a universal ranking. Four questions settle most decisions:
- Where are you going? Single-country plans are often simpler. Regional plans help if you cross borders.
- How much data will you use? Maps, messaging and rides are light. Video calls and tethering are heavy.
- Is your phone compatible? It must support eSIM and be network-unlocked.
- Do you need a phone number? Most travel eSIMs are data-only. Calls typically run through messaging apps.
Always confirm current plan terms with the provider before you buy.
